Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026. This is a starting template. Have a lawyer review it before you launch, especially if you have users in the EU, UK, Nigeria or California.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address and (for Google sign-in) profile picture. If you use a password, we store only a scrambled (hashed) version, never the password itself.
- Study data: the questions you answer, your scores, streaks, missed questions, exam date, daily goal and settings. This is what lets us remember your progress on every device, and what we use to write your progress emails (weak areas, questions to retry, book suggestions).
- Score reports: if you ask for a free replacement plan, the file you upload. It is stored privately and only our admins can open it, to check your request.
- Payment data: handled by Paystack. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of what you bought, the amount and when.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or the live chat, with your name and email, so we can reply. Live chat is provided by Chatra, which processes the conversation for us.
- Technical data: time zone (so emails arrive at a sensible hour) and basic server logs for security.
How we use it
To run the service, sync your progress, process payments, review plan-guarantee requests, keep the service secure, and send emails: account and receipt emails, plus reminders and progress reports that you can switch off at any time in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any email.
Who we share it with
Service providers who process data for us: Google (only if you choose Google sign-in), Paystack (payments), Chatra (live chat), and our hosting provider (hosting, database and email delivery). We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
How long we keep it
While your account exists. To delete your account and data, email support@vetq.org from your sign-in email address and we will do it within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Contact us and we will help.
Cookies and storage
We use one secure cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage in your browser to cache your progress. We do not use advertising cookies.
Counting visits
We count how many people visit our pages and where they came from, so we can see what helps students. We do this without cookies and without keeping your IP address. Each day we turn your connection and browser details into a one-way scrambled code that cannot be reversed and changes every day. We use it only to count you once, and we delete it after three days. Only totals are kept. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we do not count you.
